Every year since 1995, Loto-Québec International Fireworks Competition has been promoting a high-calibre international competition of fireworks set to music. Both members of the public and visitors from around the globe gather to watch this innovative pyromusical event, which boosts the Greater Québec Area's image as a premier tourist destination and stimulates the local economy.
This international pyromusical competition has featured over 30 of the best teams of fireworks artists and handlers from many different countries: Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, South Africa and Sweden. Each edition of the Grands Feux Loto-Québec has drawn a crowd of thousands to the foot of the Montmorency Falls to watch the brilliancy of these master fireworks artists.
Teams of international-level fireworks artists create fantastic masterpieces on a natural tableau consisting of the night sky and the stunning waterfall below. Tens of thousands gather each year to admire the carefully orchestrated flashes of chromatic radiance high overhead. The
sixteenth edition of the Loto-Québec International Fireworks Competition will take place from July 24 to August 11, 2010.
